Cimbolica Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 community based organization that promotes Fashion and Education through the arts. The word Cimbolica is transformed from the word symbolic, which symbolizes the uniqueness of people and the talents they bring forth. We take pride in allowing young people the opportunity to express their talents on a larger scale. To this end, Cimbolica Inc. provides an additional twist to the stage and runway, fusing modeling and dance with a theatrical theme in its productions. Using this approach to connect with urban youth of today, we believe, will provide a creative outlet of expression with positive alternatives that encourages postsecondary education. In order to achieve this mission, Cimbolica Inc wants to provide scholarship assistance for company members to attend and remain in institutions of higher learning.

Cimbolica Inc's members consist of college and high school students from grades 9-12, who must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. These young people have a phenomenal interest in the fashion industry. We will provide a nexus between the fashion industry and designing, illustrating, photography and the performing arts as a tool to motivate and direct young people to improve their lives.

Members will assist the artistic director in costume and set design, choreography, and production. We believe this program not only provides talent development and financial incentives, but will develop self-worth, independence, and team players of at-risk-high school students in a drug and violence free environment.

As a new company, we are seeking start-up capital through grants, corporate sponsorships, Angel funding, as well as seed and early stage financial support. This will allow us to bring in more students who have an interest in furthering their education in institutions of higher learning.

Funding received will allow this company to showcase and feature these young people (from the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area -- Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia) locally and abroad to demonstrate their talents. Additionally, your support will fund college tours allowing them to not only demonstrate their talents, but visit institutions of higher learning to decide on which college or university to attend.
